Books-Read Meme February 15, 2007

I got this from Helen. She didn’t tag me; I stole it. The list was compiled by some unknown bookshop, comprising its 100 most popular books.
It mostly goes to show that I’ve read virtually nothing that has been written in the last 10 years (and have little interest in doing so).
Look at the list of books below. Bold the ones you’ve read, italicize the ones you want to read, cross out the ones you won’t touch with a 10 foot pole, underline the ones on your book shelf, and asterisk* the ones you’ve never heard of. (There are a number of books of which I’ve heard the title, but unless I really know what the book is about, I’m marking them w/ an asterisk. Also, WordPress doesn’t have a button for underline! I’ve had to use my extremely minimal html knowledge to underline.)

Oh. I forgot! I think I’ll tag Erin and Melissa, because they’re more widely read than me, though Melissa, with her lovely, usually brief, blog entries probably has too much on her plate to devote time to such fluff.

[...] Karen Joy tagged me– a list of popular books. I wish there were an option for things I’ve partially read, or things I read but afterwards wished I hadn’t. Also a mark for books you used to own, but got rid of in the winnowing-before-a-move process. I’m curious as to how this book was compiled. All the Harry Potters but only one Narnia? Two Jane Austens and no Anton Chekhov? [...]
Karen, we own some of the same books in common. Poisonwood Bible is a thick novel that follows a missionary family in Africa as it self-destructs. Kingsolver does have other inter-related books involving Native Americans, but I don’t remember there being any detectives. http://www.amazon.com/Complete-Fiction-Homeland-Animal-Dreams/dp/0060926597/sr=1-5/qid=1171605837/ref=sr_1_5/105-0706204-2812405?ie=UTF8&s=books
