Weird. My doppelganger.

So, on a whim, I Googled my maiden name.  I think I’ve done that before, but it’s been a long time.  I had a very unique last name.  To the best of my knowledge, there were only three of us with the same first and last name in the U.S., and, well, for the last 15 years, it’s down to only two.

So, one lady who has my name is a school librarian in a small town.  I could so be a librarian.  And the town in which she lives?  Idyllwild, California.  I adore Idyllwild.  My family and I have camped outside of it twice in past summers, and each time we meander through it on foot (it’s the sort of town in which you can do that), we think, “Ah, we could live here.”

So, there’s a lady with my name, doing a job I would very readily do, in a mountain town I love.

About Karen Joy

I'm a partially-homeschooling mother of six -- 3 boys ages 19, 17 and 15 years old, and three girls: 11, 8, and 3. I like birding, reading, writing, organic gardening, singing, playing guitar, hiking, the outdoors, and books. I very casually lead a very large group of homeschooling families in the Phoenix area. I have a dear hubby who designs homes for a local home builder and who is the worship pastor of our church. I live in the desert, which I used to hate, but now appreciate.
