As longtime readers may know, I occasionally review products on here. Most of my reviews are ones I just choose to write, of my own volition. Occasionally, though, I’m contacted by a company that wants me to review their products. Sometimes I do, sometimes I don’t. I’ve never been paid in money, though I have received a few free products in the mail before.
Recently, though, I was contacted by a company that wanted me to review its website, which I visited. It looked great! I e-mailed the guy who had contacted me with a few questions. Satisfied with his answers, I was all set to write a glowing review and collect the $75 promised to me. I had visions of a new high chair dancing in my head (after four kids and 11+ years, ours has finally bit the dust).
Then, I talked to my hubby, who encouraged me to investigate the site just a bit further to make sure it was in line with our values. And… wouldn’t you know. With a wince, I did a search for “adult” products. The search returned 160 results. Ugh.
No matter how stellar the good parts of the website are, I just can’t recommend or link to a site that sells, links to, or receives a portion of its income from p*r^*gr@phic materials.
I’ll have to find a more moral way to buy that high chair.
