Daddy. Husband. I Love him.

I was going through some pictures yesterday, to send with my mom & stepdad in their travels to my mom’s home state of Illinois.

I wanted to send way too many of my husband;  I just love these.  He’s so handsome, and he loves his family.  His faults are never as severe as he fears they are, and his positive traits infinitely more valuable than he realizes.  I have never met anyone, ever, who is always working on doing better, in every arena of his life — in his relationship with the Father, in how he treats his family, in the quality of his work, in his internal attitudes and heart-issues, and more.  He is quick to apologize, and humbly admits to more fault than is ever due him.

I’m blessed to have him.

The world is blessed to have him.

Hubby & me in March.

Audrey & Daddy, Christmas 2011. Martin is in one of my favorite outfits ever.  And, yes, he’s wearing two wedding rings.  He has three, and he’s wearing all of them today!!  Hahaha!  One ring is the original platinum ring;  one ring is a silver replacement band we purchased in Mexico around our 10th anniversary when the platinum went missing — and later turned up BEHIND a book case;  one is an 18K white gold band he found when we were camping last year.

On our anniversary, November 2011. We were in the Verde Valley, doing a little winery tour (self-guided) and stopped along the Verde River for a little birding. We make a good team because he has Bionic Man eyes for spotting birds, and I’m good at ID’ing them. I love this pic.

Martin & his father, the ever-dearer Herbie.  You can’t see Herb well in this shot — a party blow-out thingie is in his hand — but this is classic Martin:  the tee & jeans, the stance, the serious gaze.

Martin & Fiala, October 2011.  Lots of love & joy in this pic.

Martin & his mom.

All of us, July 2011.  This is the most recent pic I have of all of us together!  O.o

About Karen Joy

I'm a partially-homeschooling mother of six -- 3 boys ages 19, 17 and 15 years old, and three girls: 11, 8, and 3. I like birding, reading, writing, organic gardening, singing, playing guitar, hiking, the outdoors, and books. I very casually lead a very large group of homeschooling families in the Phoenix area. I have a dear hubby who designs homes for a local home builder and who is the worship pastor of our church. I live in the desert, which I used to hate, but now appreciate.

  1. I really miss you Karen & Martian! One of these days we should plan a crazy camping trip-we have tents & a pop up trailer. With your clan of 7 and mine of 6 we will surely have a grand ol time! One of these Sundays I am going to play hookey from my church and visit Vineyard again…til then my thoughts and prayers are with you all!

  2. I feel exactly the same way about my husband! And it sounds like they may have some personality traits in common too… 🙂

  3. What a lovely post! Thanks so much for sharing with us and Happy Father’s Day to your hubby. 🙂
